Good educational apps for our expat kids

Summer is here; time to turn off the TV and send the kids outside with a tablet!

To stimulate their imaginations and prep the kids for their vacations in Greece, Turkey, Italy, India, China and anywhere else where ancient ruins and artifacts are on the agenda, we are going to look at mythology in a fun, modern new light. Here are a few great apps for kids on myths of the world.

MiniMyths 1: Heroic Beginnings

Ages 9+

Manga App Talk

Basically a scanned comicbook with enhancements. Here, three stories are told from Greek mythology in a Manga-style, slick approach. Might be too 'cute' for some, too 'dramatic' for others, but all in all, a nice way to tell some fascinating stories to a new generation.

Ages 4+

Chinese App Talk

Colourful stories from Chinese mythology, in Chinese and English. Chinese mythology is vast and rich, perfect for little ones: dragons, snake goddesses, moon princesses and frog kings, and they will pick up some Chinese on the way.
