Practice Description
In my past I have lived in different countries, including France, Italy, Libya, Argentina and Monte Carlo. The different experiences and cultures have shaped me as an individual and have given me a broader perspective on life and on the challenges that everyone can face in their lives. I also learned the importance of cultural context.
As a psychologist, I have an eclectic approach: I use different techniques or methodologies, always tailored to suit the individual and their needs. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Voice Dialogue techniques and EMDR in case of trauma treatment.
I speak fluently Dutch, English, Spanish and Italian and work with locals as well as with expats.
I offer support in a number of areas, including mood and anxiety disorders, stress and burnout, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, adjustment problems. My specialties/ expertise include trauma and post traumatic stress disorder, couple counselling and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Practice Description
As a Sexologist and GZ Psychologist I specialise in working with couples and individuals with issues around intimacy and sexuality. I also work with people with chronic illness and physical limitations, dealing with relational and sexual difficulties as well as problems adapting to the changed situation. I've been working as a Sex Therapist since 1990. Next to my practice I work in a physical rehabilitation centre, counselling people with MS, spinal chord injury, acquired brain injury and other serious physical problems. I am couple and client-centered orientated and work closely with clients to develop a therapeutic approach that fits their needs. I work systemically and approach relationship and sexual difficulties using a bio-psycho-social model. I am inspired by the work of Dr. David Schnarch, Relationship and Sex Therapist working in the U.S. Examples of issues that people approach me for are: disparate desires around sex, sexual boredom, low desire for sex, sexual dysfunctions, difficulties in communicating around intimate and sexual issues and questions about sexual identity etc. I work with hetero homo and bisexual clients.

Behavioural Therapist (in training), Running Therapist
Practice Description
I have been living in the Netherlands since 2000. My theoretical training to become a professional psychologist has been completed over studies followed in both the UK and the Netherlands.
All my practical experience has been gained in the Netherlands. I am a member of the Dutch association of Psychologists, the NIP, and have been granted use of the title PSYCHOLOOG NIP in recognition of my study and experience to date.
Since starting my clinical placement in June 2010 I have been continuously active working in the second line, ambulant Dutch Mental Healthcare system treating both Dutch and English speaking clients. Prior to and during my studies I was also a volunteer in a Mental Healthcare facility in Amsterdam. I developed my practice Inter-Active Therapy to be an innovative approach to psychological therapy making use of face to face contact in the outdoors and modern internet therapy forms, allowing easy accessibility to information regarding the course of the therapy while taking it outside of the traditional therapist’s office setting. Not having a fixed practice location means I can help my clients wherever they live in North Holland. Walking therapy is, as you would expect, therapy outside in a surrounding of the clients choice. It promotes positive behavioural change in a less confrontational setting. Internet therapy is carried out predominantly over Skype but can also include e-mail, online workshops and smartphone applications.
All clients are given access to a private online portal which is customised to give them information about the therapy they are following, and the steps that they have been taking. In 2014 I successfully completed a training to be a running therapist. This form of therapy incorporates a structured use of slow to moderate paced distance running to promote the natural production of feel good hormones in the brain, improving numerous psychological issues and individual self esteem, alongside the expected physical improvements.

Qualifications
Clinical Psychologist and certified Psychotherapist (applied for registration with the Ministry of Health), individual member of the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP); PhD in Psychoanalytical Studies (University of Essex).
Practice Description
As an analytical psychologist I have been providing psycho-dynamically oriented counseling and clinical support to individuals, couples and families facing challenging moments in their lives.

After moving to Kosovo, a post-conflict country, I worked in a large international organization aiming to enhance the protection and the promotion of human rights, in particular for minorities and vulnerable groups.
This professional experience gave me a great opportunity to understand the huge impact that the collective dimension has on the psychological and social sphere of both individuals and groups.
As a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist I provide short and long-term psychological support to expatriated persons, as well as individuals committed to international development and humanitarian work, both civilians or employed in police and military services. In particular, I can provide psychological support at distance to those persons being deployed in (potentially) hostile environments, who have experience several chronic and/or traumatic stressors and need to find an empathic space to be listened.
