The Hague Office - Departments
 |
| Advertising Department |
 |
Our small friendly advertising team sells all the advertising in the many ACCESS publications. The work mainly involves contacting new and existing advertisers by telephone and working to deadlines. The team also works closely with many of the other departments such as Finance, Funding, Public Relations and particularly the Publications department.
Due to the nature of this department, individuals with native or fluent English and an outgoing personality and team spirit would be well suited. Experience in sales and marketing would also be an advantage. |
 |
 |
| Community Education Department |
 |
The Community Education Department is responsible for sourcing
and developing a range of educational, cultural and creative
workshops for the English speaking community.
Our volunteers are involved in identifying and constructing
appropriate programmes, helping to prepare materials and organize
events. They liaise with course tutors, guest speakers and the community in order to ensure good attendance
and the smooth delivery of each event.
If you are committed to serving the community, have good
imagination and a general grasp of the broad range of difficulties
facing expatriates, as well as some organization and communication
skills, then this may be a challenging setting for you to expand
your experience.
 |
| Funding Department |
 |
Our small but very important Funding team works very closely
with the Public Relations and Marketing Department and is responsible
for identifying potential sponsors and generating income
such as organizing fund raising events to ensure the survival
of ACCESS.
This department needs outgoing, friendly people with a creative
outlook and fundraising ideas.
 |
| Information Research Department |
 |
Our Information Research Department is a crucial aspect of
the service ACCESS offers, since the ability to provide the community with
precise and comprehensive information is something that we
pride ourselves upon. This team is responsible for gathering,
organizing and updating all the records in our extensive
database using mainly the internet and telephone. We also help to revise and update the
wide range of ACCESS publications each year before re-print.
This is a fairly busy team with several roles,
this department would best suit an individual who is able to work
with a degree of autonomy and who is diligent, accurate and
self motivated.
 |
| Office Administration Department |
 |
The Office Administration team performs a range
of general administrative duties. Numeracy (petty cash),
common sense and basic IT skills are needed, as well as
fluency in English.
 |
| Public Relations/Marketing Department |
 |
Our small but enthusiastic Public Relations and Marketing
team is responsible for raising the profile of ACCESS within
the International Community. We work closely with Fundraising
to identify potential sponsors and maximize income generation
to ensure the survival of the organization. We also focus
on building and maintaining strong relationships with key
stakeholders in the community and ensure that ACCESS continues
to offer products and services that meet the needs of the
International Community.
Those with a background in Public Relations, Marketing and Business development
are welcome, as are those with an outgoing, friendly personality
and creative outlook.
 |
| Publications Department |
 |
Our Publications team, based in The Hague, is responsible
for writing, designing and editing a wide range of ACCESS
publications. These publications take various forms, including
topic specific booklets and books, a quarterly Magazine
and an annual Information Calendar. In addition, the team
is responsible for the images and layout of all ACCESS publications
as well as the printed ACCESS advertisements. Individuals
with excellent English skills, a creative personality and
a good eye for detail would be well-suited to this department.
 |
| Telephone Helpline |
 |
Our friendly team of Helpline staff is the first
point of contact for the community, either via telephone,
email or personal interview. They provide information and
advice on a wide range of subjects, using our comprehensive
database. Adjustment to life in The Netherlands can be difficult
and callers seek our help for a varied range of reasons.
It is therefore vital that helpline staff have a good command
of the English language, an approachable, pleasant
and sympathetic personality, and the ability to communicate
well with people, whilst maintaining a calm and patient
manner.
 |
| Volunteer Resources Department |
 |
The Volunteer Resources Department is responsible for the
recruitment and placement of volunteers. This is done by organizing
and presenting a monthly Information Morning. The purpose
of the Information Morning is to promote ACCESS and attract
volunteers. Additional responsibilities include processing
new and leaving volunteers, supporting volunteers within the various teams and promoting a positive working environment
including organizing monthly social events.
The Volunteer Resources team needs individuals who have excellent
communication and organization skills, are open minded, innovative,
highly motivated team players and enjoy working with people.
